CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

eXTRAORDINAIRE cHOCOLATE bROWNIES

Preparation: 30 Minutes
Bake: 45 minutes
Serves 4 - 6
Tools required: Blender

Ingredients:
· 250g softened cream cheese
· ½ cup sugar
· 1 egg
· ¼ tsp almond essence
· 160g unsweetened chocolate
· ½ cup margarine
· 2 eggs
· 1 cup sugar
· ¼ cup flour
· ½ tsp baking powder
· ¼ cup sliced almonds

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven at 180°C. Combine cream cheese, sugar (½ cup), 1 egg, almond essence with a blender. Set Aside
2. Melt chocolate and margarine together in a pan over a medium fire. Let cool.
3. Beat 2 eggs (one after another) in a large mixing bowl; add sugar (1 cup) and the cooled chocolate mixture. Mix well. Add sifted flour and baking powder. Mix well again.
4. Pour half the chocolate batter into a greased 21-cm square pan. Spread with cream cheese mix.
5. Top with remaining chocolate batter. Sprinkle on sliced almonds.
6. Bake for 45 minutes. Poke a satay stick into the brownies to check if they are cooked. If it comes out clean, they are ready.
